The Stormlands is violent and fickle, and constantly beset by hurricane winds and fierce storms.

Regions and Culture of the Stormlands

The Stormlands is located to the south-east of Westeros, where autumn storms ravage its deep forests, stony mountains, and wind-battered cliffs. The Stormlands has been nominally ruled by House Durrandon since the Age of Heroes, and for millennia the men of this land have existed as a largely homogenous group under the Stag Kings. The Stormmen are a harsh, martial people, where strength and resilience are highly prized, and a man's ability is respected above bloodline.

Life is never easy here, and success is largely defined by defiance against the elements and uncompromising stubbornness. While competition is fierce between the martial First Man houses, outsiders face a united front if they encroach on the hard-earned prosperity in the Stormlands.

Shipbreaker Bay

Rocky, wet, and violent, the storms that assault the stout stone keeps of Shipbreaker Bay are legendary. Here prosperity is ripped from the ground and sea in the form of stone, metal, and some of the finest sailors in all of Westeros who brave the churning seas of the . The lords of arguably the most hostile lands in the kingdom have made them long-acquainted with the fickleness of the weather, and the grasping hands of their neighbours who they war with frequently. Dominated by the Stag Kings, The eldest of these House Evenstar of Tarth has rebelled many times, seeking independence as kings in their own right. House Wylde has ever consulted the Children before their King, upholding the laws of weirwood and root above bronze and stone. The names of Swann, and Caron, and their Marcher brothers, have been sung in the Dornish Marches for centuries. And the men of Shipbreaker Bay rail against the lightning rage of the Gods under the stubborn eye of the Durrandons and Konugtuns.
