Vorian Vypren

Vorian Vypren is an Andal warlord of House Vypren, forging his power in the southern Riverlands through steel and zealous devotion to the Faith of the Seven.

Appearance

Vorian is tall and lean, with closely cropped blond hair and a neatly trimmed mustache and goatee. His grey eyes glint beneath a thin scar across his brow.

Personality

Ambitious and zealous, Vorian is as intelligent as he is ruthless. He is displaying no hesitation in bloodshed but is no mere brute: he scrutinizes every opportunity.

History

Landing in the southern Riverlands with a host of Andalic warriors, Vorian refused to wait for ambition to find him. He ambushed Lord Darry’s heirs at their land, slaying one son and scattering the rest.

Vorian Vypren attempted to seize the lands of the Darrys by force, hoping at the very least to capture Darry Castle so he could negotiate from a position of strength. However, King Tristifer arrived swiftly from the north, defeated him, and drove him from the region. Vorian was forced to flee toward Maidenpool, where King Florian captured him and then released him on the condition that he never again set foot in his lands.

Afterwards, Vorian made his way to the territories of Armistead Vance and, for the time being, joined his campaigns. After Vorian lost his only son, he murdered his own wife in order to marry the youngest daughter of King Brogg Bracken and thereby strengthen his ambitions.

Under Armistead’s patronage, Vorian transformed his militant company into a religious-military order known as The Green Order, devoted to the spread of the Faith of the Seven. The order gained particular influence in the Westerlands, where Queen Elsa accepted one of the order’s septas as her advisors.

During the the Clash of Six Kings Vorian and his Green Order fought alongside Armistead and Brogg Bracken. It was in this conflict that King Florian Mooton was captured and later executed by Vorian after refusing to convert to the Faith.

Following the war, the Green Order expanded westward, with promises of land around Silverhill serving as reward for their service. However, Vorian’s mission came to an abrupt end when he was killed by a bear while traveling through remote forested terrain.

Leadership of the Green Order passed to his only surviving son, Bonifer.
