Tytos Brax
Lord Tytos Brax, known as “the Kingmaker”, was the third Lord of House Brax of Hornvale. He was the golden-haired and golden-eyed son of Lord Mallador Brax and Lady Rowan Risley. Tytos is remembered for his victories over two rebellions and for crowning King Armistead III Vance, becoming one of the young king’s closest advisors.

Personality[edit]
Tytos Brax was regarded as a generous and thoughtful lord, with a critical mind and a firm sense of justice. He valued loyalty and duty, and his contemporaries often spoke of his even hand in matters of law. Though burdened with troubles in his household and succession, he remained steadfast in his responsibilities. Later in life, illness and misfortune left him diminished, yet he remained a figure of respect and symbolic authority.
History[edit]
Following the untimely death of his father Mallador, Tytos inherited Hornvale during a time of turmoil. Almost immediately, his cousin Ser Rupert Brax declared himself the rightful lord, rising in open rebellion. At the same time, the so-called Bronze Bull Rebellion erupted, when ten thousand First Men heathens sought to overthrow the Andal lords of Hornvale and Deepden. Tytos successfully put down both threats, securing his rule.
Though his wife did not bear him a trueborn son, only a daughter and a bastard, his reign is remembered as one of Hornvale’s most stable periods. His friendship with King Armistead III Vance elevated his standing at court, and it was Tytos who placed the crown upon the young king’s head, earning him the title “the Kingmaker.”
In his later years, misfortune struck. After attending a tournament at the Rock, he suffered a series of accidents, falling in his bath and leaving him gravely disabled. Braindead and scarcely alive, his court fell into corruption and intrigue around him.
Tytos died of a seizure, leaving Hornvale contested between his daughter Narrsa and his brother Arthor, while his cousin Rupert continued to linger, seeking vengeance for past defeats.
