House Brax is a House of Andal origin who landed with the Andal Warlord Armistead Vance in the Riverlands. They are now Lords over Hornvale and have their seat there.

History[edit]
House Brax originally hailed from the port city of Foraan in the kingdom of Myrth, where they ruled from the keep of Hesterion. During the Valyrian expansion, much of Myrth was destroyed by dragonlords after King Olyvar refused to submit. Led by Ser Artys Brax, the house fled west aboard the so-called Purple Fleet, joining Armistead Vance in his crossing to Westeros.
Following their arrival, House Brax accompanied Vance during his campaigns in the Riverlands and took up residence near his newly established seat at Castle Armistead and later near the Golden Tooth. They were frequent visitors in the Westernlands and especially familiar with the Lannisters.
For their loyalty and service, King Armistead Vance rewarded House Brax with lands in the Westerlands. The territory of Hornvale, once ruled by Clan Horn, was granted to Cyrus Brax, who established Hornvale as the new seat of House Brax.
Following the death of Lord Mallador Brax, Hornvale was thrown into internal strife. His son, Lord Tytos Brax, inherited amid mounting tensions with his cousin, Ser Rupert Brax. Disputes over faith, governance, and a series of suspicious deaths within the family culminated in a violent confrontation during a memorial feast. Rupert was arrested for treason but escaped, rallying supporters and seizing Rivermare. Both factions began calling their banners, leaving House Brax to a civil war. In the aftermath Ser Rupert Brax faction lost and he was declared a traitor and imprisoned.
Lord Tytos Brax had no sons, therefore his only daughter inherited the lordship over the Hornvale.
