History

The Polanders were among the few Andals that joined House Santagar to sail southwards rather than the Corbrays and Vances, but broke away from the host midway through the journey, choosing to arrive closer to the Stormlands than in Dorne. Led by Mathis Polander, they landed in Swann land, exiling the previous local lords, and successfully fighting off attempts from the Stormlands to retake the still mostly First Men territory.

From the Severisles, the Polanders had ready access to all the coasts in the Sea of Dorne and established themselves as sellswords and traders throughout the region. Though they were still largely unwelcomed in the Stormlands, with the Swanns in particular launching frequent attempts and raids to take back their land.

Durran XIX Durrandon offered them land within the marches proper, after many generations of integration. Thus was Polander Hall founded.
