History[edit]

Ser Raymond Paege was dispatched by Lord Armistead Vance with the task of negotiating with Queen Sonya Blanetree, urging her to bend the knee and submit to Vance. The mission ended in bloodshed. Rather than granting audience or reply, Amos Pimm, a sworn bannerman of Queen Sonya, approached Ser Raymond and killed him, slitting his throat before decapitating him with a dagger. The severed head was reportedly cast into the lap of the a Septon, who had accompanied the envoy.

The Septon was spared and sent back with the head of Ser Raymond, bearing a message: that Armistead Vance and his warlords should stay out of Blanetree lands. Armistead Vance interpreted the act as a provocation and responded by launching a campaign to conquer the lands held by House Blanetree.

After successfully defeating both the Blanetrees and the Pipers, Armistead Vance granted the lands of the Blanetrees to Raymond’s only son, Kyle.
