House Florent
House Florent are a House of First Men origin from the Reach. Their seat is Brightwater Keep.
History[edit]
Legend claims the Florents descend from Florys the Fox, the most cunning daughter of Garth Greenhand, whose three secret husbands founded the lines of House Florent, House Ball, and House Peake [1]. In the Age of Heroes her issue settled the fertile valley between the Honeywine and the Mander; later generations fortified Brightwater to guard the western coastal road.
When King Garth III “the Great” Gardener extended his realm by alliance rather than conquest, Brightwater swore to Highgarden; marriages into the royal line soon followed, cementing Florent loyalty to the Gardener kings. Though never the largest of the Reach’s armies or richest, House Florent gained a reputation for their sharp and cunning character.
