House Bar Emmon

House Bar Emmon are a House of Andal origin. They are sworn to House Mooton. Their seat is Werthport Keep which once belonged to House Werth.

History

Togarion Bar Emmon, an Andal warlord, landed at the mouth of the Blackwater with the aim of conquering the Kingdom of Duskendale for himself. Inspired by earlier Andal attempts, most notably that of a young Armistead Vance, Togarion hoped to succeed where others had failed. He began raiding the Blackwater coast, gathering wealth and attempting to rally support from other First Men kings who might oppose House Darklyn.

However, his campaign ended in failure. King Staunton Darklyn repelled the invasion, later capturing Togarion and sacrificing him beneath the weirwoods. The Bar Emmon claim to Duskendale ended with his death.

Afterward, House Darklyn granted Bar Emmon lands of House Werth. House Werth followed a rebellion in support of an independent Maidenpool, after receiving promises of aid from Ser Jaime Farring. That aid never came, and the uprising was crushed by King Aldhelm Darklyn.
