Sylas II Greyiron

Sylas II Greyiron was an Ironborn King of the Iron Islands from House Greyiron. He began his reign in 180 A.I. He was preceded in his reign by Joron II Greyiron.

History

Early Life

Sylas was born in 133 A.I., the salt son of Joron Greyiron and a woman of House Slate. Though he was Joron's eldest son, he had a rockborn brother, Dagmer, who was born to Rosalynd Volmark. Dagmer was the presumed heir of Orkmont until Sylas threatened to kill him, shortly after their father was made king.

Sylas was the captain of a longship called Freezing Mer and was known to be an authoritative and respected captain. He took part in many raids throughout his life, including the Sacking of Lannisport.

Kingsmoot of 180 A.I.

King Joron II died at age 71, leading to a Kingsmoot being called. The Drowned Priests and Drowned Reavers perpetrated a massacre there, with the targets being Ulf Greyjoy and Fralegg Hoare. Ultimately, Sylas was made King.
