Stonedance
Maldon Massey built the castle Stonedance and established his lordship over Massey's Hook. - The World of Ice and Fire[1]
Stonedance is an ancient castle on the eastern coast of the Hook, and home to the fortified harbour known as Milk-Eye's Port, where House Massey have ruled from since the Age of Heroes.
Layout
The main fort of Stonedance, where the lord and his family reside, is situated atop an elevated peninsula surrounding by high cliffs. More noteworthy however is the large town and harbour in the shadow of the castle known as Milk-Eye's Port, established by Justin Milk-Eye Massey to give shelter to the ships from storms, and where large docks have enabled the construction of large ships and dromons.
History
In the Age of Heroes, the Durrandon King Durran the Ravenfriend expanded the domain of the Stormlands northwards into the Hook. The first of the Stormman pioneers of the new region was Maldon Massey, who erected the castle of Stonedance on the eastern coast, and became the new Lords of Massey's Hook[1]. The Masseys have ruled there since.
During the early years of the Andal Invasions, King Justin Milk-Eye Massey established a major port in Stonedance to shelter docking ships from the fierce autumn storms that buffeted Shipbreaker Bay. And after it was known as Milk-Eye's Port.
