Slaughter of Nagga's Hill
The Slaughter of Nagga's Hill was a mass killing which happened on the summit of Nagga's Hill in the year 31 A.I. It was planned and perpetrated primarily by Urron Greyiron, Wolmer Codd, and Gorold Greatiron. Dozens of Drowned Priests, captains, and kings were killed. Multiple houses, including House Tiller, were made extinct.
Background edit
Torgon 'The Latecomer' and Urragon IV had both become High King of the Iron Islands without being elected at a Kingsmoot. Urragon had hoped for his great-nephew, Urron, to succeed him eventually, but when Urragon's death came the drowned priests insisted that a Moot must take place to ascertain the Drowned God's will.[1]

The Kingsmoot edit
Several claims were put forward at the Kingsmoot before the Massacre took place. Borrick Harlaw spoke of reclaiming ancient Ironborn glories, of embarking on new conquests and reclamations. Harras 'Hairy Harry' Hoare desired instead to make alliances of convenience with the Andal Invaders who had by now landed in the Riverlands and Vale in large numbers. Hoare saw an opportunity to exploit the weaknesses of the greenlands, while also dreaming of sailing farther than other Kings had yet done. Vickon Greyjoy and Andrik Goodbrother also put forward claims, though the only two that seemed to stand a chance of breaking through and persuading the other kings and captains were Harlaw and Hoare.
The Massacre edit
While the Kingsmoot was ongoing, Urron had led some of his crew up Nagga's Hill to take up positions outside the ring of claimants and captains. It is unknown who struck the first blow or whether a signal was given, but this is when the slaughter began. Based off of an eyewitness report from Harmund Hayes, it is known that Andrik Goodbrother was slain by a throwing axe; Wolmer Codd slit Harras Hoare's throat; Gorold Greatiron ordered the lords of the Giant's Fist to begin attacking, while Urron also ordered his axemen forward - largely members of his own household, his ship's crew, as well as his bannermen in houses Orkwood and Netley.
Many members of kingly houses were killed, and Urron 'Redhand' himself decapitated the most senior Drowned Priest present before declaring himself the one and only King of the Iron Islands. In the aftermath of the massacre, he kidnapped Lodos Drumm, the last living male of House Drumm, and made him his ward.
