Lord Marlon Manderly of Dunstonbury serves as Lord Marshal of the Mander under the rule of King Gwayne King Gwayne IV 'the Gods Fearing' Gardener during the Andal Invasions.

Lord Marlon Manderly of Dunstonbury.
Arms of House Manderly. Words: ‘XXXX’

Appearance

Marlon is a burly, bald-crowned man with a thick, oar-dark beard trimmed to a sharp point. Keen green eyes and has always a broad, confident grin. He is rather large and bulky.

Personality

Genial at his own table and quick with loud laughter, Marlon nevertheless nurses slights like vintage wine. He speaks freely, too freely, some say and will confide in almost anyone after a second cup of Arbor wine. Fiercely competitive, he measures every success against his lifelong rivals, the Peakes of Starpike, and dreams of a bigger Kingdom of the Reach with House Manderly standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the Gardener kings.

History

Marlon was raised on tales of Garth VII Goldenhand’s long reign and grew convinced the Reach is destined to spread its bounty across Westeros. Though renowned for hospitality, Marlon’s blunt tongue, jealousy and boundless ambition make him as many enemies as friends.

Quotes by Marlon

“Let it never be said I’m an ungracious host. First you’ll have bread and salt, then the finest beets, leeks, and onions—the bounty of my lands. Eat, drink, and be merry!” — Lord Marlon to the Grey Wizard Hagen of Yore

Quotes about Marlon

“That fat pig fancies himself important, what a joke! His line can’t even claim a whiff of Garth the Green’. He’s a disgrace to the Reach.”Lord Gunnar Peake on his rival.

“He is a…quite interesting neighbour. His feasts are legendary, his humour as well.”Lord Joseth Rowan when asked about Lord Marlon.
