Lancel Lanny was born the second son of Magnar Adrian of Ashmark, unlike his older brother Lars, who was sent away to Casterly Rock to ward and squire for King Tyrion I, Lancel was raised in Ashmark proper, in the wild highlands and among the clans that would later become his friends and family more so than his own kin.
Lancel was born an albino and a skinchanger, considered a child chosen by the Old Gods, but times had shifted in the Rock, for andals and the new faith had moved in, magnars converting en masse to please the Lannisters.
