Lady Josera Crane is known as the Maiden of Cranes during the the rule of King Gwayne IV 'the Gods Fearing' Gardener during the Andal Invasions. Reputed to be a skin changer and acts as a spiritual guide to her folk.

Lady Josera Crane of Red Lake.
Arms of House Crane. Words: ‘Grace in Flight’.

Appearance

Josera is a tall woman with pale flax-blond hair that falls loosely to her shoulders. It is said that she is more than beautiful, and her calm green eyes give little away.

Personality

Soft-spoken and self-possessed, Josera projects the quiet certainty of a seer. Follower of the Cult of the Greenhand look to her as a spiritual guide; neighbouring lords describe her courtesy as disarming. Rumours credit her with the same skin-changing gift once attributed to her ancestress Rose of Red Lake, but Josera neither boasts of the power nor denies it.

History

When the lords of Red Lake sought a new leader, they bypassed male claimants in favour of Josera, a woman of a great many talents, powerful, connected with the very nature that surrounds them. She is idealised and looked to as a spiritual leader of her people.

Josera Crane is said to have control over flocks of Cranes, that she herself takes flight with them and tours the Reach and her beauty is said to be immense, shocking even.

Quotes by Josera Crane

“Real strength lies in wisdom. Foresight and knowledge are my sword and shield.” – Lady Joseras way of rule.
