Early Life and Rule Over Orkmont

Joron was born in 109 A.I. to Balon Greyiron and Maeva Goodbrother. He became Great Captain of Orkmont in 132 A.I. when his father was murdered, apparently by Meldred Orkwood (In reality, Balon was murdered by his wife, Maeva, but this was never discovered by anyone). Thus, Joron spent the start of his rule over Orkmont at war with the Orkwoods. After a year, Meldred Orkwood was sent to the Wall, and Joron continued his rule.

In 153 A.I., there was a controversial series of events where King Harras Hoare permitted Septons to land on the Iron Islands and opened diplomacy with the Kingdom of the Rock. This was a ruse, designed to fool the Lannisters, but it still caused Joron to lose trust in his King. He did not join King Hoare in his conquest of Kayce, instead choosing to raid the Rock. Ultimately, Joron would meet King Harras and the rest of the Ironborn during the Sacking of Lannisport, where they would reconcile with each other.

Kingsmoot of 157 A.I.

King Harras Hoare would die in his sleep less than a week after returning from Lannisport. A Kingsmoot was called, during which Joron and his cousin, Cirrus Goodbrother, emerged as the frontrunners. The vote was completely split, leading to the two men finger dancing each other. Cirrus died during the dance when the hand-axe struck him in the heart, and Joron therefore became King.

Rule

At the Kingsmoot, Joron promised war eternal against the Faith of the Seven. The end of the winter therefore brought raids all across the Kingdom of the Rock.
