House Umber are a noble house of First Man origin, situated in the barren hills of north-eastern parts of the North. Their seat is Last Hearth.

History

Members of House Umber are known to be large and boisterous, and claim to descend from giants of the Dawn Age. The Umbers of the Last Lands and the Boltons of the Dreadfort commonly feud over neighboring lands.

During the time of the early Andal Invasions, Hoarfrost Umber was said to rule in Last Hearth. While best known among the smallfolk for wedding a woods-witch, his early reign is more oft characterized by scholars by the growing tension with the Boltons, and attempts at rapprochement with the Frost Kings.
