House Topp are a House of First Man descent, residing atop the highest peaks of the Mountains of the Moon, where wind and snow never relents and the clouds roll beneath the mountaintops. Their seat is the Giant's Lance.

History

Far above the lowlands, where the air is thin and the Weirwoods grow stunted and wind worn, House Topp dwells in solitude. Unlike many First Men houses that measure greatness in land or armies, the Topps have ever sought closeness to the Old Gods rather than dominion over men. Their domain is one of craggy peaks and secret passes, known only to those born of the mountain.

Among the First Men, certain signs are held. Sacred pale skin, red eyes, white hair, features that echo the Weirwoods themselves, which bleed red from carved faces. King Helgarrd Topp, current king of the Giant's Lance, was born with such marks and was seen as chosen, blessed by the gods and guided by spirits older than the hills themselves. His people follow him not for conquest or riches, but because he is what they believe a king should be. Touched by the Gods.

Though peaceful by desire, the Topps are not ignorant of war. The First Men of the mountains raid and rival one another in cycles as old as the hills, and the Giant's Lance has known blood upon its stones. Yet there remains a reverence among these highland dwellers. An understanding that each House holds sacred its place in the world. Theirs is not a kingdom of ambition, but of meaning, of being in harmony with the winds, the wolves, and the Weirwoods.

Known for his ghostly appearance and wisdom, Helgarrd is revered by his people. With alabaster skin, red eyes, and hair white as snow, he is seen as touched by the Old Gods, a living echo of the Weirwoods themselves.
