Arms of House Sweet

House Sweet of Sweetmont is an First Man house in the Hook. They are sworn to House Massey. House Sweet's seat is Sweet Bay, a seaside castle known for exporting honey and expert beekeepers.

The Sweets' have taken a beehive on a black escutcheon on a gold and brown field gyronny. Their words are "Have a Taste".

History

The Sweets claim descent to House Beesbury in the Reach, though whether through a second son, a bastard or a daughter married off is unclear.

Originally, House Sweet ruled from the isle of Sweetport Sound off the western coast of the Hook. But during the early years of the Andal Invasions, the Andals of House Sunglass landed on their shores in force with fire and steel, laying waste to their weirwoods, slaughtering their smallfolk, and fully displacing the Sweets from their ancestral lands. Under the leadership of Owen Sweet, they fled from the isle with what fighting men they had left and found refuge with King Justin I Massey of the Hook who granted them new lands and titles within the Hook in exchange for their loyalty.

Since their bitter exile from their land they have an especially violent rivalry with House Sunglass who they regard as thieves and usurpers.
