House Redfort

House Redfort are a House of First Man descent, settled in the fertile lowlands of the Vale, where green hills and meadows stretch as far as the eye can see. Their seat is The Redfort.
History
In a land better fed and more temperate than the high peaks and narrow valleys of their First Men kin, House Redfort grew strong. Long ago, when the Age of Heroes was still young, their kings ruled over bountiful lands and commanded the loyalty of numerous vassals from a curious red stained stronghold that gives the House its name. The origins of the Redfort itself are lost to time. Some say it predates the coming of the First Men, others that it was raised by forgotten hands in the earliest days of their rule. What is certain is the red hue that marks its walls after each hard rain, a result of iron rich stone.
The Redforts are among the most powerful of the First Men to war with the Children of the Forest and the remnants of giantkind in the Vale. While their mountain cousins fought in the wild heights, the Redforts held the lowlands, securing fertile lands and rivers that would sustain their rule for centuries. Their power has remained durable if not dramatic. Less known for lofty deeds than for enduring strength and solid rule.
Now, under King Ardomor Redfort, the House remains a firm presence in the south. Though he is no clever lord nor eloquent king, Ardomor's axe speaks with deadly clarity. With each swing, he reminds foes and allies alike that brute strength is still a currency of kingship in these troubled times.
