A little-known house, the Reapers of the Giant's Layer claim descent from Rogar Reaper, an woodchopper from the town of Reaper's Rest whose only daughter was taken by a man-eating [[Giants|giant]]. Legend tells that Rogar took up his axe, went to the giant's home atop a hill and slew it in three furious blows. Afterwards, he took its head and dragged it back to his village where he was hailed as a hero, and granted lands and titles for his heroic deed.
A little-known house, the Reapers of the Giant's Layer claim descent from Rogar Reaper, a farmhand from the town of Reaper's Rest whose only daughter was taken by a man-eating [[Giants|giant]]. Legend tells that Rogar took up his scythe, went to the giant's home atop a hill and slew it in three furious blows. Afterwards, he is said to have taken his head for a trophy, and his wife for a prize.

Rogar returned to the Giant's Layer, erecting a castle there atop the giant's bones, and mourned his lost child until his dying days. The sons that succeeded him were famed as being harsh and stony, traits that are common in all the scions of House Reaper.
