House Piper are a House of First Men origin from the [[The_Riverlands|Western Riverlands]]. Their seat was once Pinkmaiden Castle. Now it is Adderstone in the River and the Hills.

Rowan Piper had stood by Sonya [[House Blanetree|Blanetree’s]] side, determined to defy [[Armistead Vance]] and his [[Andals|Andal]] warband. But she did not win that battle. After witnessing Queen Sonya’s fate, Rowan ultimately bent the knee and married Ser Cyrus [[House Gaunt|Gaunt]]. In return, she was allowed to live, keep her lands, and continue worshipping her river gods, though her future children would be raised in the faith of the Andal gods.

However, not all of House Piper submitted. A branch of the family fled northward, seeking refuge in the lands of [[Tristifer IV Mudd|King Tristifer IV Mudd]]. There, near Ramsford and not far from Oldstones, they were granted sanctuary and land, founding a new life under the protection of the Mudd kings, while Pinkmaiden itself passed into the hands of House Gaunt.
