House Frost
House Frost are a House of First Men descent, situated in the far North-Eastern forests and bogs of the North. Their original seat was Frostguard, a fortress in the hills to the north of the Long Lake, but they have since lost their original seat, and rule from the castle of Frosthold.
History
The Frosts are an ancient House, and were among the most powerful and respected royal houses in the early period of the Age of Heroes. However, since that time the power of neighbouring kings, particularly the Starks of Winterfell and the Boltons of the Dreadfort have led to significant loss of power and territory. By the time of the Coming of the Andals, House Frost were little more than petty kings of a backwater region of the North, often overshadowed by the Umbers to their north.
Notable Members
Arik Frost - Lord Commander of the Night's Watch during the early years of the Andal Invasions. Sent to the Wall for slaying his own brother, the Frost King. Was reviled and shunned by many on the Wall, but was taken under the wing of Lord Commander Adrek Fisher. After deeds of undeniable heroism - was elected the ___th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch.
