History

Prior to the Coming of the Andals, the forefathers of House Farring lived in Andalos, and both founders Jaime and Argos lived there for the early years of their life. When the Valyrian dragon-lords moved west-wards however during their conquest of the Rhoynar, the Andals, among them the twins' parents, migrated en masse towards Westeros to avoid the same fate.

Originally they were to land in the Vale to join the likes of Corwyn Corbray for new lands and titles, but the twins' parents died on the voyage, and the two were blown off course to instead arrive in the Blackwater commanding of one of the largest Andal hosts in the region, aside from the warlord Togarion Bar Emmon.

Argos Farring died young, leaving Jaime to forge his own path alone. Jaime travelled widely through the Blackwater bay and the Riverlands, gaining renown as a knight and forming a alliance with House Peasbury, which granted him safe passage and protection in their lands.

During this time, Jaime also found allies among the Fishers of the Misty Isle and eventually married Masha, a daughter of King Thorst Fisher. His rising influence brought him to the attention of King Tristifer IV Mudd, who invited him to join the campaign against Armistead Vance.

Jaime distinguished himself in the war, and in recognition of his service, King Tristifer granted him the lands of Milkstone and rule over the Godsfort, placing him among the trusted lords of the River and the Hills. The Farrings now held firm ground in the Riverlands.
