History

The Darklyns have ruled in Duskendale as kings for centuries, overseeing the construction and then ruling from their prosperous seat of Duskendale[2], a city that was and still is the envy of Westeros. By the time of the Coming of the Andals, the Darklyns were the most powerful kingdom in the Blackwater, answering to none bar themselves.

During the early years of the Andal Invasions, King Harrold Darklyn and his son Staun I Darklyn repelled several Andal invaders, including the warlord Armistead Vance, all desiring the riches of Duskendale for themselves. When Harrold died and Staun became king, the warlord Togarion Bar Emmon invaded as well but Staun triumphed and pushed Togarion back into the sea by 31 A.I. King Staun I would continue to face Andal threats after however, as the prize of Duskendale was too tantalising to ignore.
