House Coldwater is a proud and unrelenting house of the [[First Men]]~~, one of the last remaining kingdoms still resisting the tide of [[Coming of the Andals|Andal conquest]] in the Fingers~~. Their seat is Coldwater Castle.

== History ==

The Coldwaters were among the first to rise when their neighbouring First Men kingdoms, the [[House Brightstone|Brightstones]] and [[House Shell|Shells]], were overrun by [[Andals|Andal]] swords. They have harassed the newcomers ever since, refusing treaties, scorning peace, and striking from woods, hills, and hidden vales. Their loyalty is to the Old Ways, the [[The Old Gods|old gods]], and the blood of the First Men.

Unlike other First Men houses in the Fingers that faded into obscurity or erased, House Coldwater ~~remains. They remain unconquered not by strength of arms alone, but~~ by ~~sheer will~~. ~~Stubborn, unbending,~~ and ~~deeply tied~~ to the ~~land. Though surrounded by enemies, they have maintained their independence through fierce retaliation~~.

Unlike other First Men houses in the Fingers that faded into obscurity or erased, House Coldwater remained for a longer time till King Hrolf Coldwater was killed in duell by Torgold Tolett. Not long after they lost the war and moved to the Riverlands where [[Tristifer IV Mudd|King Tristifer IV Mudd]] gave them a new home close to the mountains of the Vale.
