House Coldwater is a proud and unrelenting house of the First Men~~, one of the last remaining kingdoms still resisting the tide of Andal conquest in the Fingers~~. Their seat is Coldwater Castle.

The Coldwaters were among the first to rise when their neighbouring First Men kingdoms, the Brightstones and Shells, were overrun by Andal swords. They have harassed the newcomers ever since, refusing treaties, scorning peace, and striking from woods, hills, and hidden vales. Their loyalty is to the Old Ways, the old gods, and the blood of the First Men.

Not long after they lost the war and moved to the Riverlands where [[Tristifer IV Mudd|King Tristifer IV Mudd]] gave them a new home close to the mountains of the Vale.
