Gaven Greywolf

From Bronze and Iron: An Andal Invasions AGOT Roleplay Project
The Warg King
Personal Arms of Gaven Greywolf. Words: For Our Foes - the Axe. For Our Friends - Fear

Gaven Greywolf was the assumed personal name of the infamous 'Warg King', who built a mighty stronghold at the head of Sea Dragon Point, and claimed dominion over the great ancient forest that expands over the north-western region of the North. The term 'Wolfswood' has become popularised because of the expanding power of Greywolf, and his control over the wolves that dwell in the region.

History:[edit]

Little is known about Gaven's origins, only that he was born with the abilities of a Skinchanger, and dwelt in the region around the woods that would later come to bear his name. He was greatly feared throughout the North, and even revered in part for his abilities. His own smallfolk even came to consider him a god.

One notable legend that was spread about during the time of the Coming of the Andals, was that the Warg King was gifted his powers by the Children of the Forest, drinking weirwood sap, or in some tales human blood, in order to quicken his dormant powers. It has also been suggested it was the Children who helped him build his mighty fastness on Sea Dragon Point, close to the weirwood grove that men call Aldenstand.

Appearance[edit]

The Warg King is said to have taken many different forms; however, over the hundreds of years parts of his appearance always stays the same. He has pointed ears like that of a wolf, sharp pointed fang like teeth, his eyes are blood red and his hair birch tree white.

Personality[edit]

The Warg King is known to be patient as he sleeps for decades at a time if not longer before he resurfaces. When he chooses to walk among the world in human form, he is commanding, deceitful and vengeful. He strikes fear in any who oppose him and completely dominates any that stand with him.

The Skinchanger who can crawl into the bodies of most beasts and even some men does so for his own purposes. He is smart, calculating, conniving and a force of nature. Even in defeat, he finds ways to strike back and many who have seen him up close know he has true malice in his heart.

He has been known to execute his own family on mere suspicions, cut any down hwo question him, and ruthlessly pursue any who he feels has wronged him.

The Warg King as a leader inspires total subjugation and it seems time is no barrier.
