Armistead Vance is Lord of House Vance, Andal warlord of the southern Riverlands, founder of Castle Armistead and aspirant to the Crown of the Rivers and Hills.

Personality

Cold and calculated, Armistead shows mercy to those who submit but exacts punishment on all who resist. He believes in imposing the Faith of the Seven by force and values strength above all else.

History

Armistead landed at the mouth of the Blackwater Rush with a host of Andal warriors, intent on seizing Duskendale. After his assault failed, he marched north into the fractured petty‑kingdoms of the southern Riverlands. There he ordered his men to cut down ancient weirwoods and erected Septs to the Seven in their place, compelling local lords to bend the knee or face harsh reprisal.

Having captured several keeps south‑west of the Gods’ Eye, he established his seat at a refortified stronghold now called Castle Armistead. Though firmly in control of his lands, he covets the Mudds’ crown and believes only a Andal king can rule the Riverlands.

Quotes by Armistead Vance
