Though raised at Storm's End for most of his life, Silas would eventually set off to the Rainwood on his own after discovering his skinchanging abilities at three-and-ten. He requested that the [[Green Queen]] help him hone his skills, and by the time he was eighteen, he vowed he was ready. He set out to claim the white hart, a mystical symbol of kingship and the weirwood gods, to bond with it. He was successful, but only after carving out his own eye in offering to the gods. After bonding with the stag, he set out to punish any Andal brigands that remained in the [[The Kingswood|Kingswood]], and for seven years performed his duty. He accrued a following of like-minded smallfolk and warriors, but one day fell from his bonded stag whilst inhabiting its mind. One of his men trampled him under their horse, and Silas died. His following disbanded in a panic.
