Silas Durrandon (120-146 A.I.) was the youngest son of Storm King Beron I Durrandon, and his heir apparent until his sudden death. Though having died young, Silas was an influential figure in the Durrandon line, for he was the first skinchanger bearing the Durrandon name in well over a century or more. His eldest daughter, Shirei, was born with even greater gifts.

Appearance

Silas was a bulky man, and had a thick black beard. He kept his hair cut short, though it was still a little shaggy in texture. He had one eye.

Personality

Silas was ill-tempered, and spiteful. He was quick to punish even the smallest of slights, and often spoke crudely and without care for another's station or personality. He was cruel, and he didn't care. After his trial in the Rainwood, he became a fanatic devotee to the weirwoods.

History

Though raised at Storm's End for most of his life, Silas would eventually set off to the Rainwood on his own after discovering his skinchanging abilities at three-and-ten. He requested that the Green Queen help him hone his skills, and by the time he was eighteen, he vowed he was ready. He set out to claim the white hart, a mystical symbol of kingship and the weirwood gods, to bond with it. He was successful, but only after carving out his own eye in offering to the gods. After bonding with the stag, he set out to punish any Andal brigands that remained in the Kingswood, and for seven years performed his duty. He accrued a following of like-minded smallfolk and warriors, but one day fell from his bonded stag whilst inhabiting its mind. One of his men trampled him under their horse, and Silas died. His following disbanded in a panic.

The white hart was said to roam the Kingswood ever since, particularly near the weirwood stumps of the Baywater Woods.
