Editing Order of Peremore

The Grey Wizards were a fellowship of lore-masters and sorcerers who dwelt in the Ravenry, a castle on the Isle of Ravens in Oldtown. Known for their vast knowledge of history, medicine, magic, and ravencraft, they earned renown across the [[First Men]] kingdoms as wise counsellors, storytellers, and keepers of memory. Hosting one of their order was considered a mark of great prestige, for their tales, riddles, and counsel were prized by lords and kings alike.

The order traced its origins to Peremore 'the Twisted' [[House Hightower|Hightower]], the second son of [[Uthor_of_the_High_Tower|King Uthor of the High Tower]]. Born with a withered arm and a crooked spine, Peremore was confined to his bed for much of his short life. Yet his mind was restless, and he surrounded himself with priests, healers, singers, alchemists, and sorcerers, listening to their debates with unquenchable curiosity.<ref name="Oldtown">George R. R. Upon his death, King Urrigon Hightower granted land on the Isle of Ravens to what he called “Peremore’s pets.” There they raised the Ravenry, a keep built around a great weirwood, and devoted themselves to the pursuit of knowledge.

By the following generations the order had become known as the Grey Wizards, a society of learned men who traveled across the realm to advise rulers, share forgotten lore, and practice their arts. Though their origins lay in Oldtown, their influence reached far beyond [[the Reach]], for kings and magnars alike welcomed their presence in hopes of gaining wisdom and prestige.
