Hello and welcome to the Bronze and Iron: An Andal Invasions AGOT Roleplay Project wiki!

The Purpose of this wiki is to provide an accessible record of our collaborative roleplay project, which is played on the Paradox Interactive Roleplay Server: https://discord.gg/SYePCfyVCd

What is Bronze and Iron?

Bronze and Iron is an alternative history roleplay project, set in the World of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin. The story begins during the beginning of the 'Coming of the Andals' to Westeros, set approximately five thousand years before the time of the 'A Song of Ice and Fire' novels.

This project uses Paradox Interactive's Crusader Kings III as a template for the roleplay, through means of a specific custom submod developed by us for the CKAGOT mod (Credit: https://discord.gg/ckagot). The game serves as a simulation of the world, which is supplemented by written roleplay - which is the primary medium for the campaign. Events in the game are canon unless they contradict established roleplay, or happen due to a glitch - but the roleplay always supersedes the game mechanics as a whole.

The key themes of Bronze and Iron are that of cultural interaction and conflict, processes of invasion and conquest, and the rise and fall of kingdoms, and the houses who rule them. This is a project that aims to explore the turning of an age - all through the eyes of motivated and fascinating characters.

What are the aims of this campaign?

This campaign hopes to create a world built on the foundations laid by George RR Martin, but developed entirely through the actions of players, to create something new. The campaign - in short, is to tell great stories with other people, playing characters just as alive and dynamic as your own. On the other hand - the campaign is not about winning, or coming out on top. There is as much joy in playing a crushing defeat as a mighty victory!

So, what will be on this wiki exactly?

This wiki will contain background information on the setting, existing characters and cultures. Furthermore, it will contain a record of significant events, and the development of houses, kingdoms and regions as time passes during the game. As this project intends to span multiple campaigns - it seems only sensible to keep thorough records.
