Lann's Point
Lann's Point is the name that was given to the westernmost peninsula in the Westerlands, following the emerge of House Lannister.

Terrain and Culture edit
Lann's Point has a spine of high hills that run down the centre of the headland, with forests of elm and oak growing in the valleys alongside them. The coast on the southron side of Lann's point is predominantly stony cliffs, however the northern coast contains many great sandy beaches. The most populace settlement on Lann's Point is Kayce.
Culturally, Lann's Point is a curiously complex region of the Westerlands. It was originally settled by the First Men during the latter days of the Dawn Age, and would become the lands of House Casterly during the Age of Heroes. Nonetheless, Kayce was founded by Gundor Goodbrother during those years, and would become a thriving centre of trade for the growing High Kingdom of the Iron Islands. Thus, even before the Coming of the Andals - Lann's Point had a distinct mixture of First Man and Ironborn customs and traditions, that would endure for many centuries. The diversity of Lann's Point developed further following the arrival of Lann the Clever and his companions. After Lann took Casterly Rock from House Casterly, he and his descendants settled their close allies and kin on Lann's Point, who would go on to be the dominant noble houses of the region, bringing traces of their own foreign customs with them.
History edit
During the Age of Heroes, Kayce was founded by Gundor Goodbrother.
Houses Tarwick and Prester are the descendents of the companions of Lann the Clever, who took service alongside him at Casterly Rock, and were rewarded for their loyalty with lands on Lann's Point.
Gerold I Lannister had long chafed at the Ironborn launching raids along his coastline, particularly from their stronghold at Kayce, which had been established by Gundor Goodbrother during the Age of Heroes. He sought to end the sacks of Lannisport once and for all, building a fleet with the intention to sail to the Iron Islands. He found an unexpected ally in Herrock 'Whoreson' - the son of an Ironborn commander who had supposedly been fathered on one of the town whores. He had the affection of all the brothels in Kayce, it was said - and so he arranged for King Gerold to take the town. Whilst the Lannister forces approached by night, Herrock Kenning blew his horn - and the whores opened a postern gate for him. The Westerland army flooded Kayce - taking the Ironborn unawares - and captured the town. Kenning would then arrange for his own longships to follow Lannister ships and the newly submitted Farman longships as they launched a daring raid on the Iron Islands themselves, seizing a hundred hostages.
For his part - Herrock Kenning was named the Lord of Kayce, and gifted all the lands of the headland known as Lann's Point. Kenning in exchange adopted the gods of the west, and swore not to raid within the Kingdom of the Rock.
In 40 A.I. Harrag Hornblower, the latest Lord of Kayce, was overthrown by a combination of the Clever Conspiracy, and the actions of House Reyne.
