"Might I present Lady Sylva Santagar, my queen? My dearest Spotted Sylva."
- A Feast for Crows[1]

House Santagar of Spottswood is an Andal house ruling the remnants of the Broken Arm in Dorne. They are sworn to none. Their seat is Spottswood, a jungled keep deep in the wild woods the Santagars call home.

Arms of House Santagar

They blazon their arms with a spotted leopard with a golden axe, over a per bend sinister blue and white field. Their words are "In Plain Sight".

History

House Santagar is a young house founded by the intrepid Andal adventurer, Symeon Santagar, who journeyed south instead of joining his more zealous contemporaries Corwyn Corbray or Armistead Vance in their crusade further north. On his landing, Symeon built his seat on the shore of a lake deep in the jungles of the Broken Arm of Dorne, and would name both it and the jungle around it Spottswood, for the jaguars that call it home. He would take a native First Man to wife, and would not press on full conversion to the Faith of the Seven.
