+House Farman has its roots in the depths of the Age of Heroes. Throughout their history, they have been sailors and explorers, whilst struggling to protect Fair Isle against the ravages of the Ironmen. After Gerold the Great successfully built a fleet and worked with the Fair Islanders to raid the Iron Islands themselves - House Farman bent the knee. This would only last a single generation however, for after Loreon IV Lannister's disastrous campaign against Garth Goldenhand in the Reach, they renounced their fealty to the Rock, and returned to being kings.
