== History ==

House Farman has its roots in the depths of the Age of Heroes. Throughout their history, they have been sailors and explorers, whilst struggling to protect Fair Isle against the ravages of the Ironmen. After Gerold the Great successfully built a fleet and worked with the Fair Islanders to raid the Iron Islands themselves - House Farman bent the knee. This would only last a single generation however, for after Loreon IV Lannister's disastrous campaign against Garth Goldenhand in the Reach, they renounced their fealty to the Rock, and returned to being kings.

Within a century however, the fate of House Farman was sealed. Though the High Kingdom of the Iron Islands had been in slow decline for over a hundred years, the rise of Urron Redhand showed a renewed desire for conquest and destruction. Rather than simply subjugating or displacing the Farman Kings as past Ironborn Kings had done, Urron slew the entire family, and placed his eldest son to rule the Isle in his name.
