One stormy night, as the first of your line bore a message across the Dornish Marches, an arrow killed his horse beneath him and spilled him on the ground. Two Dornishmen came out of the darkness in ring mail and crested helms. But as the Dornishmen closed to cut him down, lightning cracked from the sky. It was a bright burning purple, and it split, striking the Dornishmen in their steel and killing them both where they stood. - The Hedge Knight[1]

House Dondarrion of Blackhaven is a First Man house of marcher lords from the Eastern Marches. They are sworn to House Durrandon. House Dondarrion's seat is Blackhaven, built with black basalt walls and a deep moat that guards the Dornish Boneway.
The Dondarrion sigil is a forked purple lightning bolt on a black field speckled with four-pointed stars. Their words are "Strike Twice, Strike True".
History
During a Dornish invasion by the Bloodroyal Olyvar I Yronwood, Durran Dondarrion delivered a crucial message to the Storm King Erich VII Durrandon during a stormy night when he was being pursued by two Dornishmen. Legendarily, an arrow killed his horse and his sword broke when he fell. When Durran thought he was doomed, a bright purple lightning bolt struck the Dornishmen, killing both, and he successfully delivered the message, leading to the invasion being repelled. King Erich raised him to lordship over Blackhaven for his service, and Durran became the first Dondarrion.
