House Cargyll
House Cargyll of Misty Isle are Andal lords of Misty Isle and swear their allegiance to House Darklyn.

History edit
House Cargyll trace their origins to the southern hinterlands of Andalos, where they first rose as merchants trading in candles and sour Andalish wine. They came to Westeros during the Andal invasions, sailing west across the Narrow Sea under the leadership of Roy Cargyll. Their fleet followed the southern routes, passing Tarth and Massey’s Hook before entering Blackwater Bay, where they were intercepted by the fleet of the Toynes and brought into Duskendale.
In return for swearing fealty to the Darklyn kings of Duskendale, House Cargyll was granted the right to seize the Misty Isle from its First Men rulers, House Fisher. The Cargylls prepared extensively for the campaign, using their ships to construct catapults and siege engines. With support from House Langward, once sworn to the Fishers, they staged a slow but decisive assault. Langward provided fishing canoes which, under cover of the thick mists of the Blackwater, ferried Cargyll men into breaches opened by their siege weapons. The keep of Misty Isle fell, and the Fishers were subdued, though not destroyed, their safety guaranteed and their cadet branch of Yellowstar Towers left in possession of lesser holdings.
The Cargylls cemented their standing through marriage. Roy Cargyll wed Irena Fisher, half-sister to Queen Kara Darklyn, binding them both to their overlords and to the blood of the First Men rulers they had displaced.
Though their feud with House Mertyns has faded into obscurity, the Cargylls remain known for their rivalry.
