It was Durran the Young, also known as the Butcher Boy, who damned the river Slayne with Dornish corpses, after turning back Yoren Yronwood and the warrior maid Wylla of Wyl in the Battle by the Bloody Pool... - The World of Ice and Fire[1]

Durran the Young, also known as the Butcher Boy, was the sixth-known Durrandon Storm King after Durran the Ravenfriend during the Age of Heroes. In his brief reign he turned back a Dornish invasion led by the Yronwoods and Wyls, before growing besoted with his own niece and was murdered by his brother Erich Kin-Killer[1]. His next known descendent was Durran the Fair.
History[edit]
Durran ruled Storm's End at a young age, and likely immediately upon his ascendence as a Storm King the Eastern Marches fell under attack by the Bloodroyal Yoren Yronwood and the warrior maid Wylla of Wyl[1] who penetrated as far as Cape Wrath to the river Slayne. There he turned back the invaders, killing so many he dammed the river with Dornish corpses at the massacre later named the Battle by the Bloody Pool.
Shortly after his victory and his return to Storm's End, he fell in love with his own niece and proposed they be married. His brother, Erich, grew furious at the suggestion and in an act of spite murdered his brother with his own hands, earning the name Erich "Kin-Killer"[1]. Because Durran's reign was remarkably short-lived, he was forever named Durran "the Young".
