During a grand hunt held in the deep woods of Rathmore, Lord Derek Moonfell was separated from his party and found himself lost in unfamiliar terrain. It was there he encountered Becca, a sharp tongued, beautiful woman of Andal blood, by a pond. Over time, that chance meeting blossomed into love. Becca, a devout follower of the Faith of the Seven, guided Derek to the teachings of her gods, slowly reshaping his heart and beliefs.

When King [[Dryn Hunter]] of Eastwald forsook his gods and bent the knee to the Faith of the Seven, his own bannermen turned against him in a furious revolt, denouncing both his crown and his gods. Among those who aided [[House Hunter]] was House Moonfell, bound by their shared worship of the Seven, they marched to the Hunters defense. Their aid was in vain, however, as King [[Yorwyck VI Royce]] cast his weight behind the rebels, sealing King Dryn Hunter's fate. Surrounded and outnumbered, the forces of Moonfell were broken alongside their allies at Longbow Hall.
