History[edit]
Clan Wull is historically one of the strongest clans that reside in the Northern Mountains. They commonly feud with their neighbors Clan Flint of Breakstone Hill and Clan Knott of Braidmont. In all its history Clan Wull has never bowed to a King.
Clan Wull declared themselves the uniter of all northman mountain clans. Under leadership of Magnar Hegg Wull vassalized multiple clans such as: Clan Flint that after one bloody battle bended the knee to their superior kin. Then it was Clan Braidmont that bended the knee as soon as they received the ultimatum.
After that Magnar, Hegg Wull started to get paranoid. He suspected everyone, his own family, advisors and even servants. It spiraled out when Wull burned his niece at the stake, for him suspecting her of witchcraft. After that his brother, Balder Wull, went into Holdwater, assasinated him Hugg Wull in cold blood, and then after Hegg´s son tried to avenge him, Balder Wull killed Ulf Wull too, earning him the name, Kin-Slayer.
After that the thought of uniting the Clans was almost forgotten, until Balder Wull died of old age, and his son Magnar Artos Wull, took his place. The thought of uniting the clans was sparked yet again, but this time sucessfuly. Under Arto´s lead following clans bended their knees to Wulls: Clan Norlington, Clan Norrey, Clan Burley and Clan Harclay all bended knees to the uniter of the Mountains Artos Wull crowning him the King of Greater Northern Mountains.
By the upcoming threat of another kingdoms like House Bolton, the houses united. But it was for no good. The Kingdom of Deadlands, sended scaring ultimatum - "Bend the knee or die." Of course Wulls being prideful, all of them rejected. So the Bolton army came. The Flints fled at the sight of giants, the Knots scattered at the sound of the beasts bounding across the snow, and the Harclays broke just as the men of the Dreadlands neared, seeing their wreteched fates written before them. Only the Wulls truly kept their full force and resolve, standing steadfast agains the Bolton horde. Their valour earned them no mercy, however, for there was an unearthly wickedness to be found in their foe. The wolves and bears went first, Bolton men after, and giants last of all, crashing through their lines until the ice was awash with blood. A handful of Wulls survived, retreating to Holdwater with their King, where they swore to defend the walls until death. Days later, the Bolton host arrived - wasting no time to send the giants forth to smash down the gate, opening up the way for the Red King's rabid beasts to slaughter the inhabitants. As the bloodshed calmed, and the beasts were recalled to the forests, the survivors were dragged into the courtyard by the Dreadlander men, the Wull King beaten and bloodied, thrown before the Red King in the courtyard - stood surrounded by his captains. King Bolton King, savouring the despair of the other survivors, allowed the Wull to speak his final few words of defiance before watching his crimson-clad guards drag the man away, sending him to the Dreadfort for a far longer, more purposeful, death.
The mountains were silenced.
