Arlan Evenstar ruled after Ser [[Galladon Morne]] came over the sea with his [[Andals]] to conquer Tarth, slaying his father in the mountains of Tarth, and subsequently losing the eastern side of his realm to them. In 31 A.I., the [[House Morne|Mornes]] would prepare to launch another offensive to take the rest of his land, while at the same time a wayward prince, Pyron [[House Massey|Massey]], would be welcomed into his hall as a courtier.

In response to the Andal aggression Arlan would rally his host to the borders, ~~but~~ would be defeated in the coming months, losing several battles and then his own life. Hearing of his death the remaining Evenstars would flee, at the heeding of [[Pyron Massey]], for the [[The Blackwater#The Hook|Hook]], leaving Tarth entirely to the [[House Morne|Mornes]].
