Arlan Evenstar ruled after Ser [[Galladon Morne]] came over the sea with his [[Andals]] to conquer Tarth, slaying his father in the mountains of Tarth, and subsequently losing the eastern side of his realm to them. In 31 A.I., the [[House Morne|Mornes]] would prepare to launch another offensive to take the rest of his land, while at the same time a wayward prince, Pyron [[House Massey|Massey]], would be welcomed into his hall as a courtier.

In response to the Andal aggression Arlan would rally his host to the borders and war broke out. Immediately though, he would be defeated in the coming months, losing several battles and then his own life. Hearing of his death the remaining Evenstars, his sons [[Lorimas Evenstar|Lorimas]] and [[Jonos Evenstar|Jonos]], would flee at the heeding of [[Pyron Massey]] for the [[The Blackwater#The Hook|Hook]], leaving Tarth entirely to the [[House Morne|Mornes]].
